Who We Are.

The Black Women Lawyers Association of Central Florida, Inc. (BWLACF) was established in 2025 to provide a nurturing, empowering space for Black women in law to thrive. We are committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by Black women attorneys and law students through mentorship, sponsorship, professional development, and advocacy.

We serve legal professionals across Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Brevard, Volusia and Polk counties.

Our Mission.

Our mission is to foster a dynamic network of Black women in the legal profession by providing support, guidance, and advancement opportunities. We are committed to:

  • Creating mentorship and sponsorship pathways
  • Encouraging leadership development
  • Promoting engagement in the legal and policy landscape
  • Advocating for issues affecting our members and our communities

BWLACF offers multiple membership tiers to reflect and support our diverse legal community:

Open to all Florida Bar members (or out-of-state attorneys practicing in Central Florida).

For law students and recent graduates awaiting bar admission.

For Judges serving in the Central Florida area, the Florida Supreme Court or the Sixth District Court of Appeals (6DCA).

For Judges serving in the Central Florida area, the Florida Supreme Court or the Sixth District Court of Appeals (6DCA).

Conferred by the Board to leaders or community supporters.

A one-time dues option for long-term engagement.

For retired or inactive attorneys.
